Service manager

OVERVIEW
If you’re a hands-on manager with solid shop experience and a passion for process and efficiencies, this just might be what you’re looking for. Reporting to the Director of Operations and leading a team of service technicians, you’ll ensure profitability and efficiency in our service and fabrication department, focused on both fertilizer handling and propane equipment.

  • You have superior customer service skills and quoting experience

  • You understand Lean, continuous improvement and the importance of structure and process (asset)

  • You have experience in or knowledge of the B620 code and NH3 or propane industry (asset)

  • You have experience with CWB welding techniques and practices  

A few things you’ll focus on

  • Ensuring an outstanding customer experience at all times

  • Providing quotes, estimates and contracts to customers

  • Planning staffing and materials to meet customer requirements and consistently deliver on time and on budget 

  • Interpreting customers’ problems and translating them into clear instructions for technicians

  • Managing service staff, timesheets, expenses, reviews, performance and coaching

  • Overseeing shop equipment, tools and resources and ensuring a top-notch efficient shop

  • Creating and manage schedules, communicating with staff and customers and ensuring quality work

  • Managing paperwork, job files and reviewing and signing off on all service invoicing

  • Ensuring service operations are consistent with company goals and provide recommendations

  • Holding people accountable, having the hard conversations, and driving growth and change

  • Tackling problems, finding solutions and actively implementing them hands-on

  • Increasing effectiveness and efficiency through proven Lean methodologies

  • Making sure safety happens. Always.
