DyTerra sells Ayr location to Branch Manager, February 28, 2017
Today we announce that DyTerra has moved out of the Ontario market and has come to an agreement to sell the assets of our Ayr location, which focuses on fuel and propane service in Ontario. James Nothof, our current branch manager, will open in the same location with the same employees as its own company - Keltic Tank and Meter - on March 1, 2017.
We wish to extend a huge thank you to all the customers and suppliers who have worked with us over the years in this branch. Some of you are also customers and suppliers for our other branches and we look forward to continuing to partner with you over the years.
DyTerra will continue to focus on being a full-service provider for NH3, granular and liquid fertilizer as well as propane services throughout the Prairie Provinces. We are committed to making the transition for any customers as smooth as possible and look forward to continued growth and focus as a company.
Smaller Diameter EVA Hose - Because of its high flexibility, UV resistance, strength and low temperature qualities, EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) hose has been our standard go-to for delivering NH3 from secondary manifolds to the ground. Over the last few years, the trend has been to move away from the more common 1/2" and 3/8" hose. Producers are starting to see some of the benefits of switching to smaller 1/4" or 1/8" hose diameters.
The basic science behind this trend is that the smaller diameter EVA hose increases pressure. If NH3 is kept under pressure and is not able to expand, it remains a liquid. If the NH3 is coming out of the EVA hose as a liquid, you will notice that there is almost no “gassing off” of NH3 vapour.
Here is a quick list of some of the benefits of switching to a smaller diameter EVA hose:
- No "gassing off" or freeze up at the openers.
- Higher pressure prevents plugging up.
- Cheap to install. Smaller hose costs less, and you only have to change your manifold hosebarbs.
- Easier to work with. Once installed it won’t look like a bird's nest on your applicator.
- Smaller hose will usually fit inside larger diameter opener tubes and EVA hose when installing.
